Spring? Really? Feb 20, 2011

Spring_really_feb20_11

The attached photo is of the Chinese character for "Spring", pronounced "chun".  I hang this banner on the front of our house each year at Chinese New Year time, as that holiday also brings the Spring Festival to China, and denotes the (soon) arrival of Spring.  The arrival of Spring with Chinese New Year works like clockwork, in some areas - obviously not (usually) in Minnesota.

Snow Photo!

2011-02-20_10-40-33_942

Attached is a photo I took at 10:40 a.m. today during the start of our blizzard. I was taking the trash out and my three year old son, Gabriel, was patiently wairing for me with his head down to shelter himself from the wet and blowing snow. From Christina Quittem in hanhassen.
